EXMOUTH, Devon – St Andrew.
The architect of this church was G. Cogswell, and in 1911 he prepared designs for a screen for the church. According to the Exmouth Journal of 8 July 1911, they hoped to be able to go ahead –
…as soon as Mr. Prynne’s approval has been obtained, and the necessary faculty procured.
The same paper, on 2 September 1911, reported that funds were a little slow in coming in, but that the design –
has, with some slight reservations, obtained the approval of Mr. G. H. Fellowes Prynne.
On 5 October 1912, the Journal was able to report on the dedication of the screen.
As yet, I have been unable to ascertain what the need for George Fellowes Prynne’s involvement was in this installation.
