LITTLE CHART, Kent – St Mary and the Holy Rood.

An advertisement (see below) in Examples of Modern Architecture no. 9, published in 1924, carried an advertisement for the company of H. C. Tanner, of Hanwell, who were specialists in marble, granite and mosaic work.  It listed several churches worked on for Fellowes Prynne, and Little Chart was among them.  Unfortunately no further details are known for certain, but the website noted below states that

The Victorians carried out major repairs in the nineteenth century, with new windows and oak panelling.

The church was all but destroyed by a flying bomb in the Second World War, leaving only ruins.

The advertisement is shown here, and alongside it an undated postcard of the exterior of the church.
